In this impression of King Charles III’s cypher the letters ‘C’ and ‘R’ appear in gold on a red background. Between them and in smaller type is the roman numeral III.

Long Live the King!

For 70 years Queen Elizabeth II was the one constant in an ever-changing world. The ending of her reign has been a cause of great sorrow, not just in Great Britain, but around the world. And now, with the public period of mourning ended, that responsibility must pass to her son King Charles III.

His Majesty King Charles III acceded to the throne two weeks ago, swearing at the Accession Council that he was resolved faithfully to follow her example of selfless duty and to uphold the religious settlement of the Act of Union in 1707 between Scotland and England

Famously environmentally conscious, His Majesty has established more than 20 charities throughout his tenure as Prince of Wales, and while his personal initiatives are to take a back seat now he is King, we are confident his work and that of his son, the new Prince of Wales, will continue unimpeded. In such uncertain times, the accession of a new gentle and principled King offers promise.

Within the coming year, King Charles III is set to become the 40th monarch to be crowned at Westminster Abbey in the 956 years since the coronation of William the Conqueror. Much has happened in so many centuries and as war returns to Europe, we can put our faith in our new King to ‘keep calm and carry on’, bringing us the same unity and hope as his predecessor.

We send condolences during the continuing private mourning and wish His Majesty King Charles III a long and prosperous reign. Long Live the King!
